The members of Nazigo HQR Community were sensitized on effective childcare, relevancy of educating children and proper methods of feeding infants and children in Primary Schools. This Training was headed by Mr. Kiyaga Jona and Mr. Kakwese Saulo Grace.

School Enterprise Challenge – 2019

The chief Executive officer together with the project manager invite the implementing schools of school enterprise challenge 2018 to a training on annual report writing that will take place on Thursday 6th June 2019 at 2PM at Kamuli Umea primary school in Kangulimila sub-county.

Supporting Education

Kirindi CU Primary School Received a Help Through World Resilience Uganda that made a Boost in the Infrastructural Development .We constructed A Four stance Disabled Friendly Pit Latrine with Modern Wash room and a Urinal for Boys.This was Followed by the construction of a Four Classroom Block at the same site.

What is the School Enterprise Challenge?

The School Enterprise Challenge is a global business start-up Awards Programme run by the educational charity Teach A Man To Fish which we Partner with that aims to create globally aware, socially responsible young entrepreneurs.

The Awards Programme is FREE and helps students to plan and set up school businesses that:

  1. Generate real profits to help support their educational activities.
  2. Give students the chance to gain hands-on experience of running a real school business.
  3. Are sustainable, will grow and develop each year.

Students develop essential skills in business and entrepreneurship in a practical, fun and innovative way. There is $50,000 in prizes available for the most entrepreneurial schools, teachers and students.

In 2016, we registered 16 schools from Kayunga District that took part. The businesses They started small businesses and schools generated an average net profit of $400 in just their first three months of operation!

What makes the School Enterprise Challenge unique?

How does it work?

The School Enterprise Challenge runs all year round. It is divided into three Awards levels of increasing intensity: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Schools pick the level to enter on based on their experience running a school business.

In 2018,We have Kamuli UMEA P/S and Bukeeka CU P/S at Silver level where as the rest of the schools are operating at Bronze level.

Training for Agali Awamu Women Group

FINANCIAL LITERACY

The Agali Awamu  women are running a poultry  business from their group savings. They requested for a loan boost from Tusaidiane Uganda, but before we do that, we give the women a training in Financial literacy. On the 27th of February 2018, Tusaidiane Uganda represented by Ms.Rachel Tushabe together with World Resilience Uganda a local organization represented by Mr Kiyaga Jonah , trained the women;

  • How to make a concrete and feasible business plan.
  • What is needed to start a new business.
  • How to cost and evaluate business.
  • How to manage off seasons.
  • How to deal with fear and risk taking.
  • Marketing plan.
  • How to grow a small business into a big one.
  • How to sustain a business.
  • Certification after training.

Through their efforts as shown in the  photo, you will find what transpired in the training. We hope for a cooperative future and positive change for the families of the women.

Women empowerment is one of the key activities of World Resilience Uganda. Meet a happy group of women in Bukeeka called Agali Awamu Women’s Group that we gave an interest free loan of 2.5million with support from Tusaidiane Uganda.
